Lumenergi to Provide Intelligent, Energy-Efficient Lighting to Texas State Building

Intelligent lighting technology will help TFC aggressively improve energy efficiency statewide

Lumenergi, the leading provider of energy-efficient, networked lighting systems, announced today that it will install advanced lighting control systems and smooth dimming ballasts this month in the Texas E.O. Thompson State Office Building, located at 920 Colorado St. in Austin. Lumenergi will be collaborating with two local firms, Spawglass and Essential Energy, and expects its intelligent system to reduce the building's lighting energy costs by over 60 percent.

The E.O. Thompson building is owned and operated by the Texas Facilities Commission (TFC), which is responsible for over 24.3 million square feet of leased and owned space in government properties across the state of Texas. The building is being retrofitted with Lumenergi technology as part of TFC's initiative to increase energy efficiency and cost savings while reducing the green house gas emissions of public sector buildings and other statewide facilities.

"The state of Texas and the TFC, in particular, have been at the forefront of sustainable initiatives in both energy efficiency and renewable generation, providing a model for other state governments as we move toward a clean energy economy," said Michael D'Amour, CEO of Lumenergi. "Lumenergi provides the highest return on investment, with cost-effective and efficient intelligent lighting solutions. We look forward to helping more state, federal and commercial buildings achieve similar results."

Lumenergi's system provides the following benefits:

. Adaptable lighting control capabilities including integrated daylight harvesting, occupancy sensing, task tuning, scheduling and personal control . Superior energy savings and increased comfort . Real-time monitoring, reporting, and optimization . Cutting edge building design methodology with BIM (Building Information Modeling), a three-dimensional architectural engineering and design software . Standards-based, open architecture with BMS (Building Management System) integration

This announcement marks the latest project for which Lumenergi has been chosen to provide smart lighting technology for retrofits of public buildings. Earlier this year Lumenergi provided lighting solutions for energy-efficient retrofits for Philip Burton Federal Building and U.S. Court House and Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building and U.S. Court House in California's San Francisco Bay Area.

Federal and State governments are leading proponents of energy-efficient, intelligent buildings, representing the largest market sector for advanced lighting controls. Lumenergi's strategic focus has resulted in growing successes in the sector, in addition to the company's expanding commercial portfolio. The company was recently chosen as the lighting system provider in several other GSA projects because of its non-proprietary, open architecture, and ability to deliver maximum energy savings and comfort. These contracts reinforce Lumenergi's position as the de facto name in large energy-efficient lighting retrofits.
